Any outdoor trip, expedition, or day out should not be undertaken without a fire tool. These ferro rods are excellent with good heavy sparks every single time I strike them. They have a convenient hole for a lanyard, and should be a permanent part of the outdoors kit. These are a bit heavier than many others which means they will last.
