FERROFIRE in people’s eyes
Reviews from buyers
Better spark and easier to keep in kit
I think that drilled is much better than one with a glued loop on the end. I don’t know if it is just me but this brand seems to pt out more sparks per strike. The drilled end fits a cable key ring. I made sets with a striker, blowpipe, earplug box for magnesium shavings or fire starter, and this ferro rod. A perfect gift for those that camp or just want to be prepared.
Get these, some strikers, and paracord to keep around!
I bought these after watching the first season of “Alone,” but forgot I live in the suburbs now. Still, they’re great ferro rods, and produce a lot of spark for very little strike. I keep one of these with a striker in the kitchen so I can still start our gas stove if the power goes out. If you need good kindling, I would recommend soaking some cotton balls in Vaseline, puffing them up a bit, and using this to light them. Half of one cotton ball will burn for a couple minutes, they’re water resistant, and you can use a bit of the Vaseline to keep your ferro rod from rusting.
Exceptional Customer Service
Had a minor issue with shipping. I contacted the supplier and they responded immediately to resolve the issue. Excellent customer service and communication. Very good product. I would not hesitate to purchase from them again.
Four Inch Spark Thrower
Excellent ferrocerium rod material in a four (4) inch length that weighs 2.96 ounces on my digital scales. Very nice if you’re looking for a shorter rod option and are willing to provide your own lanyard and striker.
